I live in Cordova, Alaska, where I am the priest at St. George's Episcopal Church. Besides helping with Cordovan youth music programs--I am also the director of Dancing with the Spirit--a village school music program which has been traveling around Alaska for the past 20 years. We have gone to 57 Native villages--most of them many times--and for the last 3 years--we have averaged 26 weeks of school music camps every year... We hire primarily Native musicians and storytellers as our instructors. We are now our own nonprofit and recently established the Dancing with the Spirit Endowment Fund--so that we can raise money to hire two younger people to take over!
